Regional Director of Managed Care
Position Summary: The Regional Director of Managed Care is responsible for assisting hospitals in the development and implementation of each hospital’s managed care strategy, goals, and objectives which satisfy and are in line with the region’s goals and objectives with respect to managed care.

Reporting Relationship:
The Regional Director of Managed Care will report directly to the Vice President of Business Development & Managed Care.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop the strategy, goals, objectives and educational support with respect to Managed Care.
• Support managed care development and operational activities in the local and regional markets, including hospital alliances, networks, PHO, MSO and IDS development.
• Achieve continuity in contracting terms with payors among the hospitals by overseeing contract negotiations and assisting as needed in implementation.
• Facilitate the establishment of relationships with payors on a regional or statewide basis, if applicable.
• Assist in establishing procedures for monitoring and managing payor compliance with contacted terms.
• Proactively identifies and pursue business opportunities which are in the best interest of the hospitals, the region, and the company.
• Facilitate the exchange of information and experience between facilities and proactively identify and investigate support systems/resources.
• Lead or participate in contract negotiations as needed.

At least seven years experience in a variety of managed career environments (i.e. hospital, HMO/PPO, insurance company)

An MBA, MPH or MHA preferred.

Skills and/or knowledge of the following areas valuable financial analysis, accounting/management information systems, outcomes management, network management, IPA/MSO/PHO development, physician recruitment, practice management, UR/QA, hospital operations.

Experience in hospital and physician reimbursement highly desirable.
